Dove : Mumma I want to fly high.
Mother: Yes my love. You should. Fly high and soar in the heights. Touch the colours of rainbow. But beware of the vultures. Don’t fall prey to them.
Dove: Is it possible…to fly and not to fall prey to other stronger elements.
Mother: Yes darling, it is. If you have the courage to scale the heights and strength to fight the odds then it definitely is.
Dove: But Mumma I also want to fathom the deep seas.
Mother: Go and dive to the deepest limits. You’ll find pearls hidden in the shells. Unseen and unheard creatures. Go explore the depths. But beware of the sharks. They are all there to tear you to pieces. You have to guard yourself if you want to fathom the depths.
Dove: Mumma do you have this urge too? And are you able to defend your self.
Mother: Yes dear. All the time. And many times was almost drowned.
Dove: Then you should not commit these mistakes and save yourself.
Mother: No love. Don’t be afraid of trying. If you don’t try you will reach nowhere. And making mistakes makes you stronger. Its important to make mistakes but it is equally important to learn from them.
Dove: Hmmmm…But what should I do with the colours of the rainbow and the pearls.
Mother: Share the colours with everyone around you. Make their life colourful. And give them the pearls too. The pearls will brighten their life with their iridescent lustre.
The Dove learns something new.
The mother relearns something that she had always known.
